The US Embassy has launched details of the 2019-2020 US Department of State Julia Taft Refugee Fund opportunity.
Local NGOs are invited to submit proposals that feature sustainable, quick-impact projects that meet gaps in assistance for refugees or returnee communities in Malta, including but not limited to projects aimed at providing tools to enhance competitiveness in the employment market or otherwise promote self-sufficiency.
The projects would benefit both the populations of concern and the host community.
NGOs may request a maximum of $25,000 for programs that will take place during the approximate period of September 15, 2019, to September 30, 2020.
Organisations currently receiving funding from the United States will be given lower priority in the selection process.
Please refer to the US Embassy’s website for further information at https://mt.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/129/NOFO-2019.pdf. The deadline for proposals to reach the US Embassy is April 5, 2019, via vallettagrants@state.gov
