The amphibious landing ship USS Ashland and the cruiser USS Normandy will make a "liberty call" to Malta in the coming days, the US Embassy said without giving dates.

Commander Gary M. Bordman is in charge of the USS Ashland which has a crew of 650.

The USS Normandy is commanded by Captain Stephen W. Hampton and carries a crew of 382.
