US rapper Pitbull to perform in Malta this summer
Pitbull will perform at Ta' Qali in August
US rapper Pitbull will perform in Malta this summer, event organisers greatt and NnG Promotions announced Tuesday.
The Grammy award-winning artist, also known as Mr Worldwide, will appear at the Ta’ Qali National Park on August 2, where he will be joined by special guest Lil Jon.
Pitbull’s appearance in Malta will follow concerts in Poland and the Czech Republic, as part of his I’m Back! tour across the US and Europe.
“The Malta show promises a spectacular audiovisual experience featuring stunning visuals, explosive pyrotechnics, and Pitbull’s signature performance style”, organisers said.
“Backed by his live band The Agents and dancers The Most Bad Ones, fans can expect a non-stop celebration of music, rhythm, and pure party energy.”
Organisers said the tour had sold out arenas and sparked a “viral fan phenomenon” of fans emulating the singer’s look by wearing bald caps while dubbing themselves “The Bald E’s”.
“This playful movement has swept across social media, becoming part of the unmistakable Pitbull concert experience. On 2nd August, that worldwide energy lands in Malta. This isn’t just a concert. It’s a full-scale celebration.”
Pitbull, real name Armando Christian Pérez, is a Miami rapper and entrepreneur of Cuban descent, whose pop-rap crossover run in the late 2000s and 2010s produced hits including I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) and Give Me Everything.
Further hits included Timber with fellow American singer-songwriter Kesha, and high-profile collaborations such as on Enrique Iglesias’s I Like It and Usher’s DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love.
