Valletta ferry launches Summer schedule with extended hours

Departures from Sliema start at 6.45am, first ferry from Cospicua sets off at 6.30am

Travelling to Valletta has become even easier as the ferry service launched its summer schedule on Thursday with extended hours.

Departures from Sliema start at 6.45am with the last ferry leaving Sliema at 11.45pm every day.

The first departure from Valletta to Sliema is at 7am and the last boat crossing Marsamxett Harbour leaves the capital at midnight.

On Sundays and public holidays the service starts at 8.45am and ends at midnight.

The summer ferry schedule for the Three Cities starts at 6.30am from Cospicua with the last ferry leaving at 11.30pm. The first departure from Valletta across Grand Harbour to Cospicua leaves at 6.45am and the last boat sets off at midnight.

On Sundays and public holidays the ferry service across Grand Harbour starts at 9am and ends at midnight.

The ferry service between Valletta, Sliema and Cottonera attracted just over 440,000 Tallinja card holders in 2024, together with a further 1.2 million passengers who purchased tickets for the service, according to figures provided by Transport Malta.

The service is free for Tallinja card holders, although it is mainly used by passengers, mostly tourists, who do not own a Tallinja card and have to pay for their fare.
