Valletta revival

For how long will we talk about rebuilding our beloved Opera House? Barry was a genius, an example of which can be seen at Covent Garden Opera House in the United Kingdom.

I doubt we can improve on our original, a fabulous building of a very small area at the entrance of our capital city. To stage opera, plays, concerts and exhibitions or anything else in connection with the arts, if carefully managed, the place could pay for itself and bring life back to those Valletta evenings.

Fort St Elmo is crying out loud for restoration; what better place for the Houses of Parliament than within the city walls? Space is plentiful, so congestion and parking would not pose a problem.

As for City Gate, surely that could wait till funds are available, when a small entrance in good taste could be rebuilt on similar lines as before. I hope that the powers that be will take heed of my suggestions.
