Champions Valletta FC have appointed Ivan Zammit as their new technical director.

In the coming hours, Zammit, who played for Valletta in the past, is expected to sign a contract until the end of the season.

Discussions between Zammit and Valletta officials began earlier this week with the two parties reaching an agreement today.

Valletta's unconvincing start to the season prompted the committee to recruit a technical director to support coach Gilbert Agius, who retains the faith of the club's officials.

Zammit has had coaching spells with Balzan and Gzira United.
