A decision being taken by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority today on an application to build four workshops on a piece of land in Wied Garnaw Valley is another instance of the creeping industrial development threatening to destroy each field in the area, according to The Save Wied Garnaw Action Group.

The group said the fate of Wied Garnaw was once again in the balance and it has called upon the Development Control Commission to reject this application. It said that in July last year nearly 4,000 people petitioned Mepa to put a stop to non-agricultural developments in Wied Garnaw.

It said Mepa's planning directorate had recommended refusal of this application.
