A varied Holy Week exhibition has been set up at the Magazzino of the Valletta Waterfront for the admiration of both Maltese and cruise liners passengers.
It includes a complete Last Supper display with lifesize characters, 40 costumes worn by Roman soldiers and other biblical personalities during Good Friday processions, three sets of miniature statues produced by different Maltese artisans, assorted designs portraying Holy Week subjects produced by coloured semolina technique, as well as old paintings illustrating different aspects of the passion of the Lord.
Organised by VISET Malta plc, in collaboration with Ghaqda Zghazagh Bastjanizi, Ghaqda Diletanti Personaggi Biblici and Marsa Pageant Group, the exhibition is open from today till Thursday March 25th March 201.
There will also be visual documentaries about all Good Friday processions in Malta.
"While the Valletta Waterfront is developing a reputation for highlighting Malta's unique heritage, with events celebrating Christmas, Carnival and various other moments of the year, this is the first time that Valletta Waterfront is organising this exhibition, which we intend to transform into an annual event," said Joshua G. Giordimaina, Business Development Executive of VISET Malta.
"We are showcasing Malta's unique Holy Week traditions to cruise passengers and this is the reason why we launched this exhibition at an earlier stage during Lent."
Opening times are between 6pm and 9pm daily and from 10am till 9pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. Entry to the Magazzino, situated next to the Police Station, is free of charge. www.vallettawaterfront.com
