Over the past year there were about 150 adults who benefited from Mcast's Training for Industry courses, with very good results, Education Minister Dolores Cristina said in reply to a parliamentary question by Evarist Bartolo (PL).

The success was particularly borne out by the courses in aviation maintenance and other courses offered in partnership with industry.

The phrase Training for Industry was used with reference to programmes offered in the evenings, designed according to the needs of particular industries and enterprises.

Such courses were offered both on Mcast premises and at workplaces, in an effort to reduce time away from work, Mrs Cristina said.

Besides the 150 adults who had benefited from the courses, it was also worth mentioning that every year about 4,000 other adults, from various industrial sectors, benefited from evening courses of a more general nature.
