Victim of Friday's fatal fall in St Julian's named
Kieran Thomas Hughes died in the early morning accident
A Welsh tourist who fell to his death from a balcony in St Julian's on Friday has been named by Welsh media as Kieran Thomas Hughes.
The 25-year-old from Gwynedd fell from a balcony of the hotel where he was staying in Spinola Road at 4.15am. He died on the spot.
In a statement, Sian Gwenllian, Member of the Senedd for Arfon, said: "The news of the death of a 25-year-old man from Gwynedd in Malta is truly horrific.
"It's absolutely impossible to discern the pain of the family. I, along with the rest of the people of Gwynedd, think of them in their grief."
Liz Saville Roberts, MP for Dwyfor Meirionnydd, said: "Heartbreaking news. My heart goes out to the young man’s family at this extremely difficult time."
