Victoria Hotspurs captured the Freedom Day Cup for the second time in their history after they defeated Nadur Youngsters 2-0 in the final. A balanced first half ended goalless but the Hotspurs, who are also on course to win the GFA Division One league title, gained the upperhand after the change of ends. Czech striker Martin Hanus scored twice in the final 15 minutes to secure victory and the cup for Victoria. At the end of the match, Vincent Grech, from the Ministry of Gozo, presented the Freedom Day Cup trophy to Victoria Hotspurs captain Noel Borg in the presence of GFA president Alvin Grech and GFA secretary Joe Bajada.
