There were 16 boats registered for the Fiat Regatta organised recently by the Vikings Sailing Club (www.vikingsailing.org).

The morning long-distance race was held inshore because of a heavy swell and the other three races were round-the-cans.

Laser Radial (results): 1. Niki Sammut; 2. Paul Borg Cardona; 3. Kris Micallef; 4. Matthew Xuereb; 5. Julia Zammit.

Laser Standard: 1. Darren Cauchi; 2. Ernest German; 3. Edward Farrand; 4. Matthew Gabriele.

Handicap: 1. Pure Joy (Miracle) - Leo Vella/Petra Zammit; 2. Nautic (Miracle) - Edward Borg/John Degiorgio; 3. TinaToo (Streaker) - Joe Camilleri; 4. FireBug (Green) - Robert Mifsud; 5. Girl Power (Mirror 10) - Melissa Cauchi/Sarah Borg Cardona; 6. FireBug (Blue) - John Luke Attard Montalto; 7. FireBug Yellow - Allen Mamo.

Autumn Series

Meanwhile, the first three races of the Autumn Series, sponsored by the Malta Maritime Authority, were also held last week.

The second set is now scheduled for October 10 and the third for November 21.
