The Malta Maritime Authority Autumn Series at Viking Sailing Club was organised over three weekends with some races being held outside Marsamxett harbour, just off the Sliema seafront.

A total of nine races were held, with six to count. The first two weekends had fine weather whereas the remaining three were held in squally conditions. In fact, the last two races had to have a shortened course due to the heavy rain and winds. In all, 10 boats participated on handicap.

The overall results ended with a tie for first place between Paul Borg Cardona and Nicky Sammut.

Matthew Gabriele was only three points behind. In the end, Sammut placed first because he had more first placings. All top three sailed Laser Radials.

Another young sailor who did well in the series was Melissa Cauchi. She placed fifth overall in her Firebug. Matthew Agius Delicata, in a Laser Standard, also fared well. This was his first time competing on this type of boat.
