Villa Madama, a 17th century residence near San Anton Gardens recently used as a wedding hall, is being sold by court auction on April 20.

The hall, which belongs to Venus Co. Ltd and Anthony and Nadine Abela, has been valued at €885,162.

Villa Madama was originally built as a country residence for Grandmaster Antoine de Paule and his friends, who included Caterine Valente – the lady after whom the villa was named.
