Vintage bus crashes into parked vehicles after driver falls ill at the wheel

Police confirm no one was injured

A red vintage bus crashed into parked vehicles in Sliema on Friday after the driver fell ill at the wheel.

The police told Times of Malta that nobody was injured in the incident and the driver has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred at around 12.30pm on Tower Road, near Qui-si-sana.

The bus, which was heading in the direction of St Julian's, careened across the opposite lane and crashed into a motorbike which was parked along the side. The motorbike ended up trapped underneath the vehicle.

Vintage buses are very popular with tourists who use them to tour the island. It is unclear how many passengers were on the bus at the time of the incident.
