Mario Ellul, 54, of Naxxar, was yesterday granted bail against a deposit of Lm600 after he was accused of violent indecent assault on a German woman.

The attack allegedly took place at Bugibba on January 1.

He was further charged with holding the woman against her will and with stealing her mobile phone. Police Inspector Paul Bond prosecuted.
