Two new parish priests will serve the roughly 2,000 families living in Vittoriosa and Santa Lucija, the Curia announced today.

Father Karm Busuttil will serve as parish priest of Vittoriosa, with his predecessor Father Joseph Mizzi moving to the parish of Santa Lucija.

Father Karm, 58, was raised in Żurrieq and educated at the church seminary in Rabat and University of Malta. He was ordained in 1987 and has served as vice-parish priest of Żabbar, worked within the Curia's administrative division and in the St Catherine parish of Żurrieq.

He holds degrees in Philosophy, Theology, Human Rights, International Law and Diplomatic Studies. 

Father Joseph, 47, will join the Santa Lucija parish, having served as Vittoriosa parish priest since 2015. Pries to that he worked in the Żebbug and Mqabba parishes and also served as director of the Kana Movement.

He was ordained in 1997 and has studied Philosophy and Theology at the University of Malta.
