Vodafone Malta Ltd yesterday launched the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) enabling all Vodafone customers to send and receive messages that contain colour pictures, sound and text between MMS-enabled phones.
The service is available to all Vodafone contract and etalk customers. It is being provided free of charge as a special introductory offer.
"MMS will open up entirely new opportunities for sharing moments and moods with others," Vodafone Malta managing director Joe C. Grioli said at the launch yesterday.
He said Vodafone customers may send messages to MMS-enabled phones of other local mobile networks.
Vodafone is offering all its customers the possibility of sending images through Vodafone's website www.vodafone.com.mt, a service which is similar to the free SMS service available to customers registered to the MY Vodafone section on the website.
As a special introductory offer, Vodafone customers will be able to send three free MMS messages daily from My Vodafone. Subscription of MY Vodafone is free of charge.
Vodafone customers may also make contact with owners of MMS-enabled phones when they are abroad.
Vodafone Malta has roaming agreements covering 225 networks in 99 countries worldwide.
