The National Recognition for Youth in Society award was given to Kare4Kenya during a recent ceremony at St James Cavalier in Valletta.

Second and third places were awarded to the Victoria Venture Scout Unit and Radju Lehen il-Qala.

The awards are given annually by the Youth Ministry to recognise the work done by youth groups in the community.

A total of 14 organisations were nominated. Kare4Kenya was started by a group of volunteers who went to Kenya in 2002, and now continue to work to provide school uniforms, food and medicines.
