The association of prison officers, in collaboration with Prisons Director Sandro Gatt, is for the second consecutive year organising an event in aid of the Puttinu Cares Children's Cancer Support Group.

The activity will be held on Saturday and its theme is: Take Part... And Put A Smile On Puttinu's Face, The Mascot Of Child Cancer Patients.

The idea is to raise funds to help the support group buy three flats in London to be used by parents of children who need medical care in the UK.

The activity consists of a walk that starts at 11 a.m. from the prison to Mater Dei Hospital.

The more adventurous can take part in a bicycle run from the main rehabilitation centre (SATU) in Mtahleb at 11 a.m. A meeting point is being organised at 10.45 a.m. at Saqqajja, Rabat, and everyone will be taken to Mtahleb.

Those who are joining in the walk are being encouraged to bring banners, flags and whistles, or even a pet.

Transport from Mater Dei Hospital is also being organised back to the prison and to Mtahleb.

A souvenir T-shirt wil be given with every donation during the event.

Those who cannot participate in the activity can send their donations on SMS numbers 5061 7361 for Lm1; 5061 8913 for Lm3; and 5061 9215 for Lm5, both for Go mobile and Vodafone users.
