It will come as no surprise to anyone who has had to brave the outdoors that the weather over the last couple of days has been slightly above the average for the month of June - 27.5°.

Yesterday's temperature was over three degrees more than the average at 31°, while on Tuesday it rose five degrees above the average, the Meteorological office said.

According to the records, the maximum temperature ever reached in June was 40.1° in 1997.

Temperatures for the rest of the week are expected to continue hovering in the 30s, the Met. Office said.
