Watch: 22-feet tall puppet breaks national record

The handmade puppet featured at the annual Gozo International Puppet Show

Għarb local council has set a new national record for the tallest handmade puppet, measuring 22 feet (around 6.7 metres).

The puppet was among several to be displayed at the annual Gozo International Puppet Show, this year in its second edition.

Writing on Facebook, The Malta Records – which oversees recognition of national record-breaking attempts – congratulated those involved.

Judge for The Malta Records, Jeffrey Saliba, noted that Għarb local council was “renowned for breaking national records”, noting the council had in December broken the record for the largest choir to perform inside a Christmas tree.
