Ambre was pregnant with her first child, but she developed complications and her medical appointments kept being cancelled.

She had one scheduled for April 24. She died on April 21.

Her partner says that while black men in America die on the streets, black women are being left to die in hospitals: if Ambre had been white, she might have had the medical attention she needed.
