A parked Peugeot 405 was destroyed in a fierce blaze in St Paul's Bay early on Monday.

The blaze, in Triq Santa Marija, was reported at about 1.15am.

Damage was also caused to the facade of a newly-refurbished apartment block and overhanging wires. No one was hurt. 

Police investigations and a magisterial inquiry are underway.
