Watch: Party leaders face off at University, in first debate of election

PN, PL, ADPD, Momentum and Aħwa Maltin leaders feature in the University debate

The leaders of five political parties taking part in the general election are facing off in the first major debate of the election campaign.

Labour's Robert Abela and the Nationalist Party's Alex Borg together with Momentum leader Arnold Cassola, ADPD leader Sandra Gauci and Aħwa Maltin leader Paul Salomone are taking part in the now-customary campus pre-election debate.

Party leaders debate at the University of Malta.

Previous debates have often been rowdy affairs, with students vocally egging on their leaders and taunting opponents.

Today’s debate promises to be no different, with students packing the University of Malta’s Sir Temi Zammit hall and loudly applauding party officials as they entered the room.
