Watch: Repubblika hosts round table discussion on democracy

Rule of law NGO kicks off month-long programme of events

Rule of law NGO Repubblika is hosting a round table discussion titled 'A Democracy that is Worth Fighting For'.

The discussion, which is being held at Campus Hub in Msida, will see activists, academics and others discuss Repubblika's Democratic Vision 2050 - a policy proposal document that seeks to add a focus on accountability and civic participation to the government's Vision 2050 plan.

Repubblika's round table is the first in a series of events it is organising in October, which will see the country mark eight years since the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

The programme of events will culminate on October 25, when Repubblika will host a conference to discuss and adopt a manifesto for sustainable jounalism.

The manifesto was drafted across two years in consultation with citizens, journalists, activists and academics from Malta, Italy, Belgium and Romania.
