CYPRUS

Following the international break, during which he called time on his Malta duty, Andre Schembri returned in action for his club Apollon Limassol.

On November 24, Schembri played 70 minutes in Apollon's 3-0 win over Alki Oroklini in the domestic league. Schembri's team are currently second on 22 points, three behind leaders APOEL but with two games in hand.

Meanwhile, during last week, Apollon were involved in the UEFA Europa League where they wrapped up their group stage commitments with a prestigious 2-0 win over Serie A side Lazio, with Schembri deployed for over an hour during the game. 

Apollon finished third with four points, ahead of Ligue 1's Olympique Marseille in their European group. 

ITALY

Zach Muscat returned in action for Pistoiese in their Serie C encounter against Juventus U-23, last Sunday.

The Bianconeri emerged winners 1-0 with a goal in the early stages of the game. The Malta international featured in the final period of the encounter.

Pistoiese are now 18th in the 20-team league, on 11 points. 

Meanwhile, youth goalkeeper Rashed Al-Tumi started in goal for Palermo Primavera but unfortunately, the Rosanero suffered a comeback defeat against Genoa in Italy's youth championshp. 

Martina Borg came on in the 65th minute in Fortitudo Mozzecane's Serie B commitment against Roma.

Borg's side emerged winners 2-1 and are now fourth, on 14 points.

Nicole Sciberras' Grifone Gialloverde's positive streak was halted by Ludos as the latter defeated Sciberras' side 2-1, in the Italian Serie C. 

ENGLAND

Jodi Jones, who is on the radar of the Malta FA for a potential call-up, featured in Coventry City's 1-1 draw against Peterborough United, on November 23.

The winger was put into the fray on minute 73, with the Sky Blues securing a point through a stoppage-time leveller. 

Luke Gambin had a pleasant weekend as he featured the whole game in Crawley Town's 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

The Reds now sit 14th n the 24-team championship, on 26 points. 

Sam Magri played 90 minutes for Ebbsfleet United in their 2-0 win at Aldershot Town.

The Fleet stay in 10th position, five points off the play-off places.

Joseph Ellul stayed for the whole game in Braintree Town's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Barrow.

The Essex side remain bottom of the National League but Ellul has been earning positive reviews throughout the season, so far. 

SERBIA

Balzan's loanee Jamie Zerafa featured in FK Indija's 5-0 rout of Novi Pazar.

Zerafa came on in the 62nd minute as the Serbian side are leading the way in the second-tier on 42 points, one ahead of second-place Zlatibor Cajetina.

IRELAND

Dany Testa played full game for Greystones United Seniors B away vs UCD and scored one in their 4-2 loss.

SCOTLAND

Beppe Mangion played full match vs Queens Park, with the Partick Thistle goalkeeper earning a man-of-the-match performance as his team managed to win 1-0.

Meanwhile, in the following championship game, Mangion was involved in Partick's 2-2 draw with Inverness. 

NETHERLANDS

Rachel Cuschieri made her highly-awaited debut for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in their 3-0 win over AZ Alkmaar.

The Malta international, who was on the back of a long-term injury, made her debut on minute 74 as she played the final quarter of the game. 

GERMANY

Malta women's U-19's team member Jana Barbara played in SGS Essen U-20's championship game against FC Saarbrucken, with the latter claiming the spoils with a 4-1 victory. 


Meanwhile, Andrea Borg was recalled by League One outfit Peterborough United before moving to St Neots Town, on another loan after spending the first part of the 2018/2019 season at Kettering Town.

Last weekend, Andrea Borg was substituted midway through the second half as St Neots went down 2-1 at home to Stourbridge, who sit second in the Southern League Premier Central Division.
