A prototype SpaceX super heavy booster was briefly engulfed in flames during test on a launch pad in south Texas late on Monday.

The Booster 7 is planned to be the first stage for SpaceX's next-generation Starship deep-space transportation system.

The blaze broke out when flammable gas ignited during a flow test involving most or all of the booster's 33 Raptor engines.
