Europe is preparing military action to "disrupt" the business model of migrant smugglers.

But Libyans from both governments say they reject this plan as more than 50,000 migrants are now believed to have crossed from Libya to Italy. More than 1,700 have died in the attempt.

Times Talk this week delved into the story with on-the-ground reportage from the west of the country, from where most of the migrants leave.

The programme included interviews with people in a Libyan detention centre, migrants in the streets of Tripoli, policemen and the Libyan coastguard.
