Turkey is home to around four million stray dogs which are often fed and watered by canine-loving citizens. But these strays can be dangerous as attacks on humans, mostly children, demonstrate.

The Erdogan government is planning to introduce a new law to control the number of street dogs, but this move is controversial, as animal rights activists claim it amounts to a cull.
