Watch: Two players handed three-match ban after Hibs-Marsaxlokk scuffles
Both sets of players were involved in an altercation at the final whistle
Hibernians forward Miullen and Marsaxlokk midfielder Ulises Arias were the only players to be punished by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner for their involvement in the clashes that broke out at the end of the Premier League clash.
Marsaxlokk came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Hibernians to ensure they will be playing in the Top Six and at the same time condemn the Paola club to the Bottom Six.
At the final whistle at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, several players from both sides were involved in an altercation that began on the pitch and continued in the tunnel.
On Saturday, Marsaxlokk condemned the "shameful and violent" acts of the Hibernians players and appealed to the football authorities that severe disciplinary action should be taken against those responsible to ensure that such behaviour doesn’t happen again.
“To preserve Maltese football’s reputation and make sure that this behavior doesn’t happen again, we demand that the appropriate authorities take severe disciplinary action,” the Marsaxlokk statement had said.
However, when the Disciplinary Commissioner issued his weekly list of suspensions, only two players involved in those clashes were suspended.
