Former MEP candidate Zaren Bonnici Tal-Ajkla is organising a mass meeting in front of Parliament on Sunday to share his views on the current situation in Malta.
Speaking to the Times of Malta, Mr Bonnici said that after three years under a Labour government and under the present Opposition leader, he felt the need to organise an event to make his voice heard on the present state of play.
He argued that corruption affected both parties in Parliament and neither parties could get rid of it.
Asked about whether he believed Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi and the Prime Minister’s chief-of-staff Keith Schembri should resign, Mr Bonnici said that if they did anything wrong they should go. However, he said there were people on the Nationalist Party side who also needed to go if they were in the wrong.
He said independent MP Marlene Farrugia should not vote with the PN in favour of the no confidence motion but ought to abstain because she was elected by Labourites on the fifth electoral district.
The 58-year-old Żejtuni, first entered politics in 2003, when he contested the general election and garnered 20 votes. He contested the last general election and increased his votes to almost 70.
