Heavy traffic to board the Gozo Channel ferries is being anticipated this evening after a long weekend and due to the fact that MV Malita is still at the yard for its annual dry docking.

To minimise the inconvenience, the Gozo Channel said it will be mobilising its vessels to be able to operate a shuttle service from mid-morning to late evening, as and when required. As a consequence, the scheduled times may not be adhered to during these times.

The company said that ferry passengers may experience a "slightly more than usual" waiting time due to the heavy demand. It is therefore urging passengers on their way to Gozo to purchase their return ticket from the booth at Cirkewwa on their ongoing journey so that access to the marshalling area on their return will be quicker and the process of boarding more efficient.
