I refer to the report "Will the MLP boycott the EU referendum?" (April 20). The third paragraph of the report stated:

"`Our position is crystal clear - the referendum does not have any value and that only an election is binding. It is an election which will change the conditions in the country,` Mr Magro stated."

I would like to clarify this as follows:

Our position is crystal clear - the referendum is binding on the government which organises it. Finally, it is the general election which will decide the future of our country.
