The finals of the Wilson knockout competition will be played on Saturday at the Marsa Sports Club.

So far, over 50 players have figured in almost 200 games since the first round started last January in various local clubs.

The finals day gets underway with the semi-finals in the over 40s and the 'restricted' events. These will be followed by the two finals for teams.

The 'restricted' event could provide an interesting final with no.1 women's seed Johanna Rizzo in line to face husband Steve, if both win their respective semi-finals.

Steve Rizzo has progressed steadily through the Malta Squash rankings this season and is currently seventh... two positions behind Johanna.

The Rizzos will be having a busy day on Saturday. Together with Karl Grech Orr they will be playing in the Open team final. Here they face Bernard Bugeja's team.

The 'restricted' team final will be contested by the sides led by Roberta Pace Grima and Victor Calvagna.

Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, the Marsa Squash Section is offering players the chance to take part in a free coaching session.
