The Malta Model Aircraft Flying Association will be holding its 12th annual open weekend called Wings Over Ta' Qali at its flying site, in Ta' Qali on April 3 and 4.
The date was chosen in order to permit, for the second time, the participation of Italian aerobatic champion Sebastiano Silvestri.
Apart from Mr Silvestri, a group of German and Sicilian fliers have also shown interest to participate. The Hal Far Model Aircraft Flying Association will also be participating.
The association said radio control model aircraft flying was both challenging and very rewarding.
Competition flying is regulated by the Federation de l'Aviation International which is the governing body for air sports.
The Maltese association has been urged by the FAI to join its ranks since Malta was the only country in Europe which was not a member. But the association said that, unfortunately, membership would entail expenses which at present would prove crippling to its coffers.
