Wolt Malta partners with Victim Support Malta to assist families at Christmas
Company donates about €2,500 worth of individually curated care packages to 19 households in vulnerable situations
Wolt Malta has partnered with Victim Support Malta (VSM) to ensure that families facing hardship are not left behind at Christmas.
In the weeks leading up to the festive season, the company donated approximately €2,500 worth of individually curated care packages to 19 households in vulnerable situations supported by VSM.
Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, Victim Support Malta provided anonymised household data, allowing Wolt to hand-pick groceries and essential goods tailored to the specific needs of each family. Households with infants, for instance, received baby nutrition, diapers and sanitisation products suitable for sensitive skin, while other families received everyday essentials selected to best support their circumstances.
Each care package also included festive sweets and treats, along with a 210cm Christmas tree and a full set of decorations. These additions were intended to help families create a festive atmosphere at home.
Joanne Vella of Victim Support Malta said: “At VSM, our goal is to help people find the strength and determination to go from victim to resilient survivor. And a big part of that journey is about rediscovering one's sense of self-worth and self-love.”
Wolt Malta’s general manager Chris Tanti added: “We didn't want this to be just a box-ticking exercise. It would have been so much easier for us to just purchase a few dozens of template gift boxes to hand out to people in need. But where's the soul in that? We wanted to send a clear heartfelt message to the people receiving these packages. We wanted to remind them that there is help, there is hope, and there is love even from the most unlikely of sources.”
