A 65-year-old woman from Hamrun was critically injured when she was hit by a car in Mdina Road, Zebbug this evening.

The car, a Volkswagen Transporter, was being driven by a 35-year-old man from Mtarfa in the direction of Żebbuġ.

The accident happened at around 7.15pm.

An inquiry is being held.
