Woman accused of attacking Kalkara school heads is denied bail

The incident happened on Monday

A woman was denied bail on Wednesday after she was charged with assaulting and slightly injuring the head and assistant head of Kalkara Primary School.

Magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace heard the 43-year-old woman plead not guilty to assaulting and injuring the head and assistant head and breaching the peace at the school where her children attend.

The incident happened on Monday outside St Margaret College, Kalkara Primary School, at around 7.30am. Sources said the mother blamed the head and deputy head for one of her children having decided to move out with his father, sometime after being a pupil at the school.

Police Inspector Chantelle Mifsud prosecuted while lawyers Ludwig Caruana and Francesca Fenech represented the mother. The court issued a ban on the publication of names.
