A 23-year-old woman from St Julian's was slightly injured when two hooded men knocked on her door and hit her with a baseball bat after asking for money, late on Thursday night.

The police said the men took some money and gold and escaped in a car.

In a separate incident, an armed man stole an undisclosed amount of money from a lotto receiver in Birkirkara yesterday at 9 a.m., the police said.

Duty magistrate Miriam Hayman has appointed a number experts to help in the inquiries for both cases.
