A 21-year-old Finnish pedestrian was injured on Monday afternoon when she was hit by a motorist who was driving along the Strand in Sliema. 

The woman was hit by a Hyundai Accent driven by a 48-year-old man from Marsa, police said.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance. No information about her medical condition was available.

The Finnish woman was the second pedestrian rushed to hospital on Monday, following another incident in which a 72-year-old man was hit by a car in San Ġwann.

On Sunday, a German man was rushed to hospital with grievous injuries after he was hit by a car while crossing the ring road by the passenger terminal at Malta International Airport.
