A 65-year-old woman from Gżira was seriously injured on Thursday morning when she was hit by a van at the corner of Old College Street with Tower Road, Sliema.

The police said the accident happened at 10.30am.

The van was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Birkirkara.

Police are investigating.
