A 63-year-old woman from Vittoriosa suffered grievous injuries in a traffic accident in Żabbar.

The police were called to Bieb is-Sultan at 8.45pm on Sunday, where it transpired that the woman was hit by a Toyota Vitz driven by a 24-year-old man from Żabbar.

The pedestrian was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
