A 43-year-old woman was grievously injured on Thursday in a traffic accident in Tarxien.

The police said the accident happened in Triq id-Dejma at 7.15am.

The woman, a resident of Tarxien, was driving a Toyota Aygo when she lost control and crashed into a parked truck.

A medical team gave her first aid on site and she was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
