Work trial scheme launched for Gozo youths
Participants receive an allowance of €120 per week
The government has launched this summer's work trial scheme for Gozo youths.
Minister Clint Camilleri said the scheme aims to introduce young people and students to the world of work while helping them make more informed career choices. It provides the opportunity for them to briefly work with private entities and NGOs.
Through the scheme, participants receive an allowance of €120 per week, up to a maximum of €600 over five weeks.
Eligibility Criteria
• Jobseekers: Anyone aged 16 to 20 who is seeking employment may apply. Participants are eligible if they have reached the age of 16 and have not yet turned 21 by July 31.
• Full-time students: Students aged 16 to 25 attending an educational institution on a full-time basis (such as secondary school, MCAST, ITS, Junior College, or university) are eligible to participate.
• 15-year-old students: Students aged 15 who will turn 16 by December 31, and who have completed Form 5 (Year 11), are also eligible to apply, provided they submit a valid School Leaving Certificate with their application.
The scheme will run between August 3 and September 4.
Those interested can submit their applications online through the Gozo Ministry website or via the myGozo app from June 22 to July 3.
