Several workers were left high and dry over Easter weekend after their March salaries were not processed by their employer's bank.    

The workers are contracted to Wasteserv but are employed by a company embroiled in an ongoing court case, sources close to the workers said.

While the contractor has passed on the payments to the bank, BNF has not processed them into the workers' bank accounts following legal advice, UĦM Voice of the Workers said. 

In a statement decrying the situation, the union said that affected workers were suffering since they had other financial obligations which they were struggling to meet as a result of not getting paid. 

The union said that it was in direct contact with the contractor responsible and was pressuring BNF Bank to process the payments as soon as possible.
