Surrounded by ‘microbial cloud’

Every one of us is surrounded by a “microbial cloud” containing millions of bugs which is almost as personal as a fingerprint, research has shown.

Scientists were able to identify individuals from a group of volunteers just by sampling germs from the air around them.

Each cloud had a “signature” that could be read by carrying out genetic analysis of the bacteria, the study led by the University of Oregon in the United States found.

Colborne was caught after his half-brother uncovered papers detailing his racial hatred stashed in his bedroom at the family home in Southampton, and was found guilty of preparing terrorist acts following a retrial at the Old Bailey.

Drunken man was buried alive

Road construction workers in central India killed a man when they accidentally buried him in a pit while repairing a road, police said.

The road repair crew failed to notice that a drunken man had fallen into a crater on the side of the road in Sleemanabad, a village in Madhya Pradesh state. Working in the evening, the workers dumped gravel and an asphalt mixture into the pit, burying the man, before using a large roller to smooth the road, said Constable Dhruvsingh Thakur.

The death was discovered when villagers noticed that part of the man’s hand was visible in the road and police dug out his body on Monday. Two workers from the road repair crew were arrested and have been charged with homicide.
