William Chetcuti broke the world record which has stood since 1998 for the double trap on October 16.

This incredible feat was only recorded in a slot in Monday's The Times sports column on page 42 completely dwarfed by half a page dedicated to horse racing heralding the start of two championships at the Marsa. Nothing else was mentioned the following days.

Oh, by the way, Mr Chetcuti is also the holder of the junior world record. But why make a fuss? Perhaps in Malta breaking world records is a frequent occurrence!
