The Malta Tourism Authority is holding its annual photographic competition and exhibition to celebrate World Tourism Day, this year on the theme "Tourism enriches - individuals, families, communities and all the world".
The competition is open to Maltese and visitors to the Maltese islands, and is being organised by the MTA in collaboration with the Malta Photographic Society and under the auspices of the Minister for Tourism and Culture.
"Tourism Enriches" is an awareness programme campaign of the World Tourism Organisation.
"The Malta Tourism Authority is the first tourism organisation worldwide to endorse the WTO's 'Tourism Enriches' campaign, which was launched earlier on this year in Madrid, as part of its own tourism awareness efforts," said the MTA's Leonard Zammit Munro.
The closing date for entries for the competition is September 3. Prizes include flights and weekend breaks courtesy of Air Malta and the Radisson SAS Baypoint Hotel.
Entry forms may be collected from the reception area of the Malta Tourism Authority at Auberge d'Italie, Merchants Street, Valletta and from the MTA's Tourist Information Offices at City Gate, Valletta and in Mgarr, Gozo.
The best entries will be included in an exhibition which will be inaugurated on World Tourism Day, September 27, 2004.
