Xagħra motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash with car

63-year-old rushed to Gozo General Hospital with major injuries

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in an afternoon collision with a car in Xagħra on Saturday afternoon.

The man, a 63-year-old Xagħra resident, was riding a Yamaha Drugstar on Vjal it-8 ta’ Settembru at around 2.15pm when he collided with a Toyota Yaris driven by a 24-year-old Victoria man.

He was rushed to Gozo General Hospital for treatment. Doctors certified him as having been seriously injured in the collision.

Magistrate Jean Paul Grech is leading an inquiry into the case.

It was the second major traffic incident on local roads in one day, following a 2am crash that left an Msida man battling for his life.
